Circus cats in Missouri need you to take action!
Missouri House Bill 1752 would prohibit local bans on the use of wild and exotic animals in entertainment while invalidating those that already exist. Tell your state representative that they should protect big cats, not abusive circuses!
Missouri House Bill 1752, the working animals bill, would guarantee circuses the right to use wild animals for entertainment by preventing local governments from banning traveling acts and nullifying existing bans. This bill is moving quickly and will soon come up for a full House vote. We must stop it in its tracks!
You may be experiencing a sense of déjà vu. That's because this is the third time this ill-conceived legislation has been proposed! With your help, we defeated this bill twice. Let's do it again!
HB 1752 is a handout to circuses and other businesses that want protection from a society that no longer accepts exploiting animals for profit. One of the bill's greatest proponents represents circuses, roadside zoos, and cub petting exhibitors, and is actively working to defeat our federal bill to end big cat abuse. We must stop legislators from bending to the will of a small yet vocal industry group that represents the worse of the worst. It is time they read the writing on the wall - Missourians do not want animals abused for entertainment!
